My Mission:

I feel so blessed to have grown up in a country where every opportunity was available to me, where I’ve never wanted for food or shelter, and where I’ve always having a loving and supportive family. I want to use my talents as a physician to give back to those who have less, and teach them about basic healthcare, and to provide hope. I feel that Mission trips help me remember the reason I went into Medicine in the first place, to help the underprivileged.

Bilal A. Khan, Student

Bilal A. Khan, Student

Work Experience: I was originally in an accelerated Physician Assistant program at University of the Sciences. With only 2 years of study left, I could have completed my education by the age of 22 and began working with a munificent salary. However, I stumbled upon the world of research one summer which forever changed my perspective.I realized that I could be a force in my generation by going beyond the bedside to actually improve treatment for my patients, as opposed to simply giving a diagnosis and going by a textbook protocol for treatment. I have since never looked back and left my pursuit of a PA career to a field where I know I am driven to make a difference. I now am on route to become a physician-scientist, where I can use my title and credibility to solve basic healthcare issues in the communities that need me most. If I have the ability to inflict such impact on those I have been given the privilege and blessing to treat, it is my duty not only as the next generation of physician-scientists, but as a fellow human, to answer that call.

My Mission: I hope to apply my experience to developing and optimizing the new MMK website, fundraising through crowdfunding, and of course assisting with my limited yet expanding realm of clinical experience. I also hope to be able to return annually as my skills and formal education progress.
